Northwood Maple
Acer rubrum 'Northwood'
This selection from Northern Minnesota, and released by the University of Minnesota in 1980, is an excellent shade tree with a rounded to oval crown and branches that ascend at approximately a 45 degree angle. Optimum growth, as with all Red Maples, will occur in moist, slightly acidic soil.
